MOREHEAD CITY,
N.C. WRECK DIVING:
It is amazing that world class wreck diving is so close to the Washington Metropolitan area. Morehead City, N.C. is known as the "Grave Yard of the Atlantic," and is aptly named due to the large number of ship wrecks that are accessible to divers.
| For those of you
who have dived off the coast of North Carolina, you are aware of the warm water,
good visibility, interesting wrecks and abundance of sea life, including
barracuda, sand tigers, amberjack, and even schools of dolphin. All of these
benefits, within driving distance of Washington, D.C., add up to an exciting
weekend and an exceptional value as well. |
This summer
(2011) we have booked two weekends aboard our favorite
North Carolina dive boat, the "Captain’s Lady."
These trips are perfect for a short get-a-way, or an opportunity to
finish those specialty dive classes, like Wreck Diver, Deep Diver, Underwater
Hunting & Collecting or Boat Diver.
These trips are limited to six divers each, so they tend to sell out early. Last trip we saw large sharks, grouper and stingrays on almost every dive. An occasionally we even spot turtles and green moray eels.
Wreck Diver Course & Holiday Weekend Morehead City DiveTake the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty and complete your last two wreck dives in Morehead City, N.C., "the graveyard of the Atlantic." We have two special Deep Diver and Wreck Diver Classes scheduled to coincide with our Morehead City Dive Trips. These trips sell out fast, so do not wait to sign up for your Wreck Diver Specialty and Morehead City Weekend Trip. Each class will consist of one classroom session, two local dives to learn basic wreck skills then will conclude with two days of diving in Morehead City, N.C. |
