STARTING YOUR SCUBA EDUCATION

BEGINNER CERTIFICATION: The PADI Open Water Certification Course

How do I become a diver?

The first step to becoming a scuba diver is to enroll in a recognized course of scuba instruction. There are many worthwhile courses available. Like anything else, some are better than others. The Professional Association of Dive Instructors, PADI, is the largest scuba-training agency in the world. Because PADI has the most complete and widely recognized diver training programs, you can be confident that at Aquatic Adventures Scuba Academy, you are earning the most respected diver credentials available. The certification that you earn at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Center is even recommended for college credit.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is divided into two segments.

Academic Training and Pool Dives

During this segment the new diver learns the basic principles and knowledge needed for safe and enjoyable diving.  Our classroom is the most modern and up to date around.  Multimedia presentations make learning fast and enjoyable.  During our pool sessions the basic diving skills are taught in a relaxed, stress free and enjoyable manner.

Scuba Diving Training Books & Supplies

At Aquatic Adventures Scuba Academy we offer a variety of class formats.  Our group classes are conveniently scheduled and very competitively priced.  Semi-private and private classes are available for those with restrictive schedules.  Whatever your needs, we pride ourselves in providing the finest training available.

Open Water Training

Scuba Diving Classes & Lessons Once you have mastered the essential information and skills taught in the classroom and pool, you are ready to continue your training by applying these principles in Open Water. Four dives are conducted under the direct supervision of one of our highly trained professional scuba instructors.  This can be done locally, on one of our organized dive vacations or on your personal vacation.

The PADI Open Water Certification that you earn at Aquatic Adventures Scuba Academy is designed to make you more than just another scuba diver. The course will orient you to the latest innovations in diving equipment and safe diving practices.

The National Geographic Diver Program Option

The PADI National Geographic Diver Program is the perfect accompaniment to the Open Water Course.  This concurrent program allows the student diver to fine tune essential skills to better enjoy and explore the majesty of the Underwater World.  Click Here for Details

Group Classes Vs Personalized Instruction

Group classes tend to be the least expensive way to learn.  Learning with a group is fun, a good way to meet people and the student also learns by watching others.  Group classes meet regularly but have the least flexible schedule.  Our Group Classes offers economical training.  Our Group Class is an Accelerated One Weekend Format and is designed for today's busy professionals who still wants a group class but have time limitations.  Individuals who have scheduling problems or who need a little extra attention might want to consider Personalized Instruction.

Personalized Instruction is available for those who find that group classes do not fit their needs.
Semi-Private Classes
, made up of from two to four students, offer a flexible class schedule and more personalized attention.  These classes are perfect for those whose work schedules do not coincide with group classes.  It is also ideal for individuals who prefer smaller more intimate classes.

Private Classes are also available for the individual who wants a class built around their own schedule or needs.  While more expensive than semi-private classes, the individual one on one contact with an instructor offers the ultimate in personalized service and attention.

What's Next?  After completing the Open Water certification, many divers ask themselves, what's next?
